Setup, Compatibility & Care
Upon receiving your Alstroemeria in its grower's pot, you should assess if it needs immediate repotting. If the roots appear tight, move it to a slightly larger container with well-draining, high-quality potting mix.
Key Care Instructions:
- Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but never waterlogged; ensure your container has adequate drainage holes.
- Feeding: During the peak blooming months of summer, use a balanced liquid fertilizer every few weeks to support the continuous flower production.
- Placement: Choose a sunny position, ideally one that is sheltered from strong winds to protect the delicate flower stems.
- Winter Care: In regions where temperatures drop below -5 °C, bring your containers indoors or cover them with horticultural fleece to provide insulation.
