Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: Ensure the rug is the correct size for your horse. When first fitting, check that the closures (buckles, straps) are secure but not too tight. The combo neck should lay flat against the horse's neck.
Compatibility: This rug is designed for turnout and is generally compatible with most standard horse tack. It is intended for use in light to medium weather conditions. For very cold weather, consider a heavier weight rug or adding a liner.
Care:
- Cleaning: Brush off loose dirt and mud after use. For deeper cleaning, hand wash or use a gentle cycle on your washing machine with cold water and a mild, non-detergent cleaner specifically designed for equine rugs. Avoid harsh detergents or fabric softeners, as they can damage the rug's waterproof and breathable properties.
- Drying: Always air dry the rug completely. Hang it over a rug rack or clothesline in a well-ventilated area, away from direct heat or sunlight. Never tumble dry, as this can melt or damage the fabric.
- Repairs: Minor tears or seam separations can often be repaired using a specialized rug repair kit or by a professional rug repair service to maintain the rug's integrity and performance.
