FAQs

What age is this gift set suitable for?

This gift set is specifically designed for young players under 8 years old, as part of the GAA's Go Games initiative.

Is the ball suitable for all weather conditions?

Yes, the First Touch ball features all-weather construction, making it durable for play in various conditions on grass or astro turf.

What is the main benefit of the First Touch ball?

The First Touch ball is lighter and softer than standard balls, making it easier and safer for young children to handle, thus building their confidence and skills.

Does the set include everything needed to start playing?

Yes, the set is comprehensive and includes a First Touch Gaelic football, a handpump for inflation, a kicking tee for practice, and a 750ml water bottle for hydration.

How do I maintain the water bottle?

The water bottle should be hand washed with mild soap and warm water. It is not dishwasher or microwave safe.

Can older children use this ball?

While the ball is durable, its design is optimized for younger players (under 8). Older or more experienced players might find it too light or small.

How often should I pump the ball?

You should pump the ball whenever it feels soft or before each play session to ensure optimal performance and feel. The included handpump makes this easy.

Troubleshooting

Ball not inflating properly

Ensure the pump needle is fully inserted into the ball's valve. Check that the valve is clear of debris. If the needle is bent, replace it. Avoid over-inflating.

Ball losing air quickly

Check the ball's valve for any signs of damage or a loose fit. Ensure the pump needle was inserted straight and carefully. If the issue persists, the ball may have a slow leak and might need replacement.

Kicking tee is unstable

Ensure the kicking tee is placed on a firm, level surface. Adjust the base of the tee if necessary for better stability.

Water bottle cap is difficult to open/close

Ensure the cap is aligned correctly when screwing it on or off. If it feels stiff, rinse the threads with warm water.
