Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Initial Fit Check: Upon receiving, have your toddler try on the boots. Ensure there is about a thumb's width space between their longest toe and the end of the boot for growth and comfort. Check that the heel doesn't slip excessively and the sides are snug but not tight.
- Lacing: Securely lace the boots, ensuring they are tight enough to support the ankle but not so tight as to restrict circulation or cause discomfort. Double-knotting can help prevent laces from coming undone during play.
Compatibility
These boots are versatile and can be paired with a wide range of toddler clothing:
- Casual Wear: Combine with jeans, leggings, or shorts for a fun, everyday look.
- Dresses & Skirts: Add an edgy-cute touch to dresses and skirts.
- Seasonal Outfits: Suitable for cooler weather, providing warmth and protection.
Care
- Wipe Clean: For dirt and scuffs on the patent leather, use a damp cloth. A mild soap can be used for tougher spots, then wipe clean with a fresh damp cloth.
- Polish (Optional): A patent leather cleaner or specific Dr. Martens patent protector can be used to maintain shine and provide a protective layer. Always test on an inconspicuous area first.
- Sole Cleaning: Clean the PVC soles with a damp cloth or soft brush to remove dirt and maintain traction.
- Drying: Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct heat sources, which can damage the material.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Using shoe trees or stuffing with paper can help maintain their shape.
