FAQs
Can I install this awning myself?

How far does the awning extend?
This model provides an extension of 2 meters from the wall.
Can I leave the awning out during winter?
It is highly recommended to keep the awning retracted during the winter months or periods of extreme weather to prolong the life of the fabric and hardware.
Troubleshooting
Awning is difficult to retract
Check the crank mechanism for debris and ensure the arms are not obstructed by branches or furniture.
Awning fabric appears to sag
Ensure the tensioning arms are fully extended and verify that the mounting brackets are level on the wall.
Visible rust on joints
While the frame is corrosion-resistant, use a soft brush to remove surface debris and apply a light silicone-based lubricant to joints if they begin to squeak.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Installation of the vidaXL Retractable Awning requires a sturdy mounting surface, such as a concrete wall or reinforced timber frame, to support the weight and tension of the mechanism. Ensure the hardware is securely anchored to avoid sagging or mechanical failure.
For ongoing care, keep the aluminium frame clean by wiping it down with a damp cloth periodically to remove dust or environmental grime. During extreme weather events such as high winds, heavy rain, or snow, always keep the awning retracted to prevent damage to the fabric and the structural arms. Regularly inspect the crank mechanism and mounting brackets to ensure all bolts remain tight.
