Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your Highwood shoes last, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Break-in Period: Wear the shoes for short periods initially to allow the leather to soften to your foot shape.
- Leather Care: Use a high-quality leather cream or conditioner periodically to maintain the aniline finish and prevent the leather from drying out.
- Footbed Maintenance: If the footbed becomes damp from wear, remove it and allow it to air dry at room temperature away from direct heat sources like radiators.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place and use shoe trees if possible to help maintain the loafer's shape over time.
- Cleaning: Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth; for stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth and allow it to dry naturally.
