FAQs
Are these shoes suitable for running?
The 574 is designed primarily as a lifestyle trainer for casual wear, not for long-distance running or high-intensity training.
How do I clean the suede?
Use a soft-bristled brush specifically made for suede to lift dirt. Avoid liquid cleaners unless they are explicitly labeled for use on suede.
Do these trainers run true to size?
Yes, they generally follow standard sizing; however, individual fit can vary based on your foot width.
Can I wash these in a washing machine?
No, machine washing can permanently damage the suede material and compromise the structural integrity of the shoe.
What should I do if the suede gets wet?
Pat them dry with a clean towel and stuff them with newspaper to help them retain their shape while air drying away from heat sources.
Troubleshooting
Water spots on suede
Lightly blot with a clean cloth and use a suede brush once dry to restore the nap.
Loose fit or discomfort
Try adjusting the lacing technique or using a thin aftermarket insole to customize the fit.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your New Balance 574 trainers remain in top condition, follow these guidelines:
- Breaking-in: Wear the shoes for short periods initially to allow the suede and internal materials to adapt to your foot shape.
- Suede Care: Use a dedicated suede brush to remove surface dust and dirt after use. Avoid getting the shoes soaked.
- Stain Treatment: In case of spills, use a specialized suede cleaner or a white eraser for light marks. Do not put these shoes in a washing machine.
- Storage: Keep them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent color fading of the red accents.
