Setup, Compatibility & Care
Sowing: Sow seeds outdoors in autumn or early spring in well-drained soil. Lightly cover seeds with soil and keep moist until germination. For earlier blooms, sow indoors 4-6 weeks before the last frost.
Location: Prefers a sunny to partially shaded position. It tolerates a range of soil types but thrives in moist, well-drained conditions.
Compatibility: Excellent for planting with spring bulbs, wallflowers, and other early-flowering perennials. They work well in borders, rock gardens, and as a ground cover.
Care: Water regularly, especially during dry periods, to maintain soil moisture. Deadheading is not essential as the plant is intended to self-seed. If self-seeding becomes too vigorous, thin out seedlings in the following season.
