FAQs

What type of playing surfaces are these boots designed for?

These boots are designed for Firm Ground (FG) and Artificial Ground (AG) pitches, offering versatile performance on both natural grass and synthetic turf.

What does 'PWRTAPE support frame' do?

The PWRTAPE support frame is an integrated component that provides enhanced agility and stability, helping to maintain foot lockdown during dynamic movements and quick changes in direction.

How does GripControl Pro benefit my game?

GripControl Pro texturing on the upper enhances ball contact, giving you superior control and feel when dribbling, passing, and shooting, especially at high speeds.

Are these boots environmentally friendly?

The upper of these boots is made with at least 20% recycled materials, demonstrating a step towards reducing environmental impact.

What is the purpose of the SPEEDSYSTEM soleplate and FastTrax studs?

This combination is engineered for maximum traction and propulsion, allowing for faster acceleration, more efficient braking, and sharper cuts on the pitch.

What does 'low cut slip-on construction' imply for wearing the boots?

It means the boots are designed without a traditional tongue, featuring a streamlined, sock-like entry for easy wear and a snug, secure fit around your foot.

How do I know if the 'regular to narrow fit' is suitable for my feet?

If you typically have narrower feet or prefer a very snug, responsive feel in your boots, this fit should be ideal. For those with wider feet, it's recommended to try them on or consider other Puma Ultra models with a different fit profile.

Troubleshooting

Boots feel too tight or uncomfortable during play

The Puma Ultra 5 Pro has a regular to narrow fit. Ensure you have the correct size. If it's a new pair, a brief break-in period may be needed. If discomfort persists, consider if a wider fit boot would be more suitable for your foot shape.

Experiencing reduced traction on the pitch

First, ensure the studs are clean and free from mud, dirt, or artificial turf pellets. Confirm you are playing on firm natural ground or artificial ground, as these boots are not optimized for very soft, wet, or muddy conditions. Check the stud plate for any signs of excessive wear.

Ball control feels inconsistent or less responsive

Clean the GripControl Pro texturing on the boot's upper. Dirt or debris can reduce its effectiveness. Also, ensure your laces are tied securely to provide maximum lockdown and feel for the ball. Practice sessions can help you adapt to the boot's specific touch.

Heel area feels irritated or rubs during play

Although the boots feature soft heel cushioning, ensure your socks are appropriate for football and are pulled up correctly. Check for any debris inside the boot. If the issue persists, try thicker socks or ensure the boot is fully broken in.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup

The Puma Ultra 5 Pro FG AG boots feature a low cut slip-on construction, designed for easy wear and a snug, glove-like fit. Simply slide your foot into the boot, ensuring the heel cushioning aligns correctly for maximum comfort.

Compatibility

These boots are specifically engineered for use on firm natural ground (FG) and artificial ground (AG) pitches. The stud configuration is optimized for these surfaces, providing reliable traction and preventing premature wear. They are designed with a regular to narrow fit, making them ideal for players with narrower feet or those who prefer a snug, performance-oriented feel. If you typically wear wider boots, you may need to consider sizing up or trying them on to ensure a comfortable fit.

Care

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Puma Ultra 5 Pro FG AG boots, follow these general care guidelines:

  • Cleaning: After each use, gently brush off any loose dirt or mud. For tougher grime, use a damp cloth with mild soap. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive brushes that could damage the upper materials or stud plate.
  • Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct sunlight or artificial heat sources (like radiators or hair dryers), as these can cause materials to shrink, crack, or become brittle.
  • Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place, ideally with boot trees or crumpled newspaper inside to help maintain their shape.
  • Stud Maintenance: Regularly check the studs for wear and tear. Ensure they are free from embedded debris, which can impact traction. Info needed: Specific recommendations for stud replacement, if applicable.
  • Upper Material Care: The aerodynamic upper, including areas with GripControl Pro, benefits from gentle cleaning to maintain its texture and performance.
