The Nike React Pegasus Trail 4 is designed for active adults who transition frequently between paved roads and unpredictable trail paths. Its primary benefit is a highly responsive cushioning system that maintains comfort across varied terrains, though users should note that its specialized outsole may show faster wear if used exclusively on abrasive concrete surfaces.

While capable, the lugged outsole will wear down faster on asphalt; they are best suited for mixed-terrain runs.
The standard version is designed for breathability. For wet-weather performance, look for the GTX (Gore-Tex) variant.
The Pegasus Trail 4 generally fits true to size for most adults, though you may prefer a half-size up if you wear thick hiking socks.
They work well for light hiking and fast-packing, but they do not offer the ankle support of dedicated mid-cut hiking boots.
The shoe utilizes durable synthetic textiles for the upper and Nike's proprietary React foam for the midsole.
The multi-directional lug pattern is designed for grip; after trail runs, inspect the spaces between lugs and dislodge debris with a blunt tool.
Allow for a 20-30 mile break-in period to let the upper materials contour to your foot shape through natural heat and movement.
To ensure the longevity of your trainers, always ensure the laces are properly adjusted before starting your run to prevent heel slip. For cleaning, remove surface dirt with a soft brush after your run and allow them to air dry naturally away from direct heat sources like radiators, which can warp the foam. To maintain the integrity of the cushioning, avoid using the shoes for non-running activities that involve heavy scraping or chemical exposure.
