FAQs

Does this purchase include the rubber border?

No, this product is the coir insert only. The rubber surround must be purchased separately.

Can I leave this mat in direct sunlight?

While it is durable, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause the colors in the pheasant design to fade over time.

How do I clean the mat?

The best way to clean the mat is to shake it out or use a vacuum to remove loose dirt trapped in the fibers.

Is this mat waterproof?

Coir is a natural fiber and is not waterproof. It is best used in a sheltered, dry outdoor location.

What are the dimensions of the mat?

The mat measures 23cm x 53cm.

Troubleshooting

Mat sliding inside the frame

Ensure the rubber surround frame is dry and free of debris, then press the insert firmly into the tray to ensure the latex backing makes full contact.

Visible shedding of fibers

Shedding is common with natural coir products; shake the mat vigorously outdoors to remove loose bristles and prevent buildup.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Excellent at scraping mud and debris off shoes
Stylish and classic pheasant design
Eco-friendly materials used in backing
Stable base helps prevent slipping

Cons

Rubber surround frame must be purchased separately
Best suited for sheltered areas only
Small dimensions may not fit standard full-sized doorways

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To set up your doormat, ensure you have a compatible 23cm x 53cm rubber surround frame, as this product is an insert only. Simply place the mat into the frame to create a secure, finished look. For care, it is best to regularly shake out the mat to dislodge trapped dirt and dust. If mud dries on the fibers, a firm brushing or vacuuming will help restore its cleaning efficiency. Avoid using heavy-duty chemical cleaners, as these may strip the natural fibers or damage the latex backing.
