The standard Moab Speed 2 model features a breathable mesh upper and is not waterproof. For waterproof protection, Merrell offers GORE-TEX variants of their hiking shoes.

The Moab Speed 2 builds upon the original Moab Speed by incorporating feedback from hikers worldwide, refining comfort, durability, and performance features for an updated trail experience.

While designed for speed and agility on trails, they are primarily classified as hiking shoes. They offer more support and durability than typical trail running shoes, making them suitable for fast hiking or light trail running, but not for highly technical trail running.

Refer to Merrell's sizing chart for accurate measurements. It is recommended to try them on with the type of socks you typically wear for hiking, ideally at the end of the day when feet are slightly swollen.

The Floatpro™ Foam is engineered for durability and long-lasting comfort. However, like all cushioning materials, its responsiveness will gradually decrease with extensive use over many miles and years.

The Moab Speed 2 generally offers a moderate fit. While some users find them accommodating, individuals with very wide feet may prefer to try them on or look for models specifically designed for wider widths if available.

Allow for a break-in period with shorter walks. Ensure laces are adjusted correctly for a snug but not overly tight fit. Consider wearing thicker or thinner socks depending on your needs.

The Vibram® TC5+ outsole provides good grip, but wet surfaces can be challenging for any footwear. Clean the outsole regularly to remove caked-on mud or debris. For extremely slick conditions, consider using trekking poles for added stability.

The mesh upper is designed for breathability, but in very hot conditions or during intense exertion, some warmth is expected. Ensure you are wearing moisture-wicking socks. Clean the insoles if odor becomes an issue.
