Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup Instructions
Replacing your SH30/50 shaver heads is a quick and easy process. Always ensure your shaver is turned off and unplugged before beginning.
- Open the Shaver Head Unit: Depending on your specific Series 1000 or 3000 model, you will either press a release button or gently pull the shaver head unit open. Refer to your shaver's user manual if unsure.
- Remove the Retaining Ring: Some models have a blue or grey retaining ring that holds the cutting elements in place. Twist this ring counter-clockwise to unlock and remove it.
- Remove Old Blades: Carefully lift out the old shaver heads. Note their orientation if they are not identical.
- Insert New SH30/50 Blades: Place the new SH30/50 blades into the head unit, ensuring they are seated correctly. Each blade should fit snugly into its designated slot.
- Reattach Retaining Ring (if applicable): Place the retaining ring back over the new blades and twist it clockwise until it locks into place.
- Close the Shaver Head Unit: Snap the head unit back into place, ensuring it is securely closed.
Compatibility
These Philips SH30/50 Replacement Blades are specifically designed for and compatible with Philips Series 1000 and Series 3000 electric shavers. They are not compatible with other Philips shaver series, such as Series 5000 (unless it's a specific pentagon-shaped Series 5000 that uses SH71/50), Series 7000, or Series 9000. Always verify your shaver's model number before purchasing replacement heads.
Care Instructions
Once the new blades are installed, proper care will help maintain their performance and hygiene:
- Rinse Regularly: After each shave, rinse the shaver head thoroughly under warm running water to remove hair clippings and debris. Many Philips shavers are fully washable.
- Deep Clean: Periodically (e.g., once a week), perform a more thorough cleaning as described in your shaver's manual. This might involve disassembling the heads and rinsing each component separately.
- Air Dry: Allow the shaver heads to air dry completely after cleaning, preferably detached from the shaver body, to prevent bacterial growth and corrosion.
- Store Properly: Store your shaver in a dry, cool place with the protective cap on the shaver head to prevent damage to the blades.
