FAQs

Is the rucksack waterproof?

It features a water-resistant polyester construction and a durable, waterproof PVC base, but it is not submersible.

Can I attach a larger unhooking mat to the exterior?

Yes, the four compression webbings are designed to secure larger items like mats or extra clothing layers.

Does it come with the expansion packs included?

No, the expansion packs are sold separately to allow for custom storage configurations.

What is the best way to clean the PVC base?

Wipe the PVC down with a damp cloth or sponge. Avoid using harsh chemical solvents that could degrade the material.

Can this be used for international travel?

The compact design generally fits within airline carry-on dimensions, but always check with your specific carrier for size limits.

Troubleshooting

Zippers feeling stiff or sticking

Clear any debris or mud from the zipper track and apply a dry silicone lubricant.

Magnetic tray not holding tools firmly

Ensure the tray surface is free of grit and that you are using stainless or magnetic-compatible rig tools.

Back panel workstation instability

Check that the base is placed on level ground and the support clips are fully engaged in the base loops.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Excellent for rapid deployment and stalking
Converts into a functional workstation
Durable, water-resistant base material
Highly modular with expansion capabilities

Cons

Limited main compartment volume for long sessions
External storage relies on specific expansion packs
Requires careful packing to balance weight

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To maximize the utility of the rucksack, ensure your most frequently used items are placed in the internal mesh organiser pocket for easy identification. When setting up the workstation, ensure the clips on the back panel are securely fastened to the base to prevent the platform from flexing. The pack is fully compatible with all Scope OPS expansion series pouches and accessories. For maintenance, clean the polyester exterior with a soft brush and warm water. Ensure the PVC base is dried thoroughly after use if it has been used as a kneeling pad to prevent moisture buildup inside the zippers.
