Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Your Nike Tiempo Legend 10 Elite boots arrive ready for immediate use. The primary setup involves lacing them to achieve your preferred secure fit. Experiment with different lacing techniques to find what offers the best balance of comfort and lockdown for your foot shape. A snug fit, especially around the Flyknit ankle, is key for optimal performance.
Compatibility
These boots are specifically designed for Artificial Ground (AG) surfaces. This means they are optimized for synthetic grass pitches, often referred to as 3G or 4G turf. Using them on other surfaces, such as natural grass (firm ground, soft ground) or hard ground, is not recommended as it can compromise traction, accelerate wear on the soleplate, and potentially void any warranty. Always check the type of pitch before playing.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the performance of your boots:
- Cleaning After Each Use: After every game or training session, wipe down the synthetic leather upper with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. For tougher stains, use a mild soap solution.
- Soleplate Cleaning: Use a brush (a stiff-bristled brush works well) to clean the specialized AG soleplate, ensuring no turf pellets or mud remain lodged between the studs. This maintains optimal traction.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, as this can damage the synthetic materials and cause them to crack or stiffen.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place. Using boot trees or stuffing them with newspaper can help maintain their shape.
- Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use strong detergents, bleach, or solvents, as these can damage the synthetic leather and other materials.
