Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the best results, match the screw gauge and length to your material thickness. If you are fastening metal, ensure the pilot hole diameter is slightly smaller than the core diameter of the screw to facilitate the self-tapping process without damaging the material. When driving these into wood, consider a small pilot hole to prevent the wood from splitting, especially near edges.
Maintain these screws by keeping them in a dry environment to prolong the integrity of the zinc finish. If the screw head becomes stripped or damaged, do not continue driving, as this can make removal significantly more difficult later. Always wear safety glasses when driving screws into metal, as small shards can be displaced during the tapping process.
