The Rieker Jaida boots are water-resistant thanks to the RiekerTEX membrane, which is designed to handle rain and snow but should not be submerged in deep puddles.
Yes, these boots are designed with a wide fitting profile, providing extra room in the toe box and instep.
While the boots come with comfortable lining, it is recommended to consult a cobbler if you wish to use custom orthotics to ensure they fit within the wide-fitting structure.
To clean the internal fleece, use a light vacuum attachment to remove dust and debris, or spot clean gently with a damp sponge.
The boots feature a stable 3cm heel height, providing a comfortable elevation for walking.
You can use a breathable water-repellent spray designed for membrane-lined footwear to maintain the outer protective layer.
Ensure the lace and tongue area is properly aligned to avoid water seepage; while water-resistant, they are not fully waterproof under total submersion.
Check that the inner fleece lining is tucked away from the zipper teeth and ensure the laces are loosened enough to provide slack.
Use a soft brush to remove dried dirt, followed by a damp cloth; avoid harsh detergents which can damage the water-resistant membrane.
To achieve the best fit, initially loosen the laces on the Rieker Jaida boots to your desired comfort level, then use the side zip for subsequent daily use. Ensure the tongue is centered under the laces to prevent rubbing. For maintenance, wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth to remove mud or salt after outdoor use. Avoid machine washing or submerging the boots in water, as this can degrade the water-resistant treatment over time. Allow them to air dry away from direct heat sources like radiators to preserve the material integrity.
