FAQs
What type of runs are the Adizero Boston 12 best suited for?
These shoes are best for road races, tempo runs, interval training, and high-intensity training sessions. They are designed for speed and performance on pavement.
Are these shoes suitable for everyday training or just races?
While excellent for races, they are also highly suitable for everyday training runs where you want a responsive and energetic feel, such as tempo runs or longer efforts where you're pushing the pace.
What is Lightstrike cushioning?
Lightstrike is a lightweight, responsive cushioning technology developed by adidas. It provides a balance of cushioning and firmness, offering a snappy feel that helps propel you forward.
How do ENERGY RODS 2.0 work?
ENERGY RODS 2.0 are carbon-infused rods embedded in the midsole. They are designed to mimic the metatarsal bones of the foot, providing stiffness that helps guide the foot through the gait cycle, enhancing energy return and providing a propulsive feel.
How do I clean my Adizero Boston 12 shoes?
Use a soft brush or damp cloth to wipe off dirt. For stubborn stains, use a mild soap and water solution. Always air dry them away from direct heat or sunlight.
Is the sizing true to fit?
Generally, adidas running shoes tend to fit true to size for most runners. However, fit can be subjective, and it's always recommended to try them on or check specific size guides if unsure. Info needed: [Specific advice regarding half sizes or width for this model]
Can I use these shoes for walking or gym workouts?
While you *can* use them for walking or gym workouts, their design is highly optimized for running performance. For dedicated walking or cross-training, other shoe types might offer better specific support and flexibility.
Troubleshooting
Shoes feel too tight or uncomfortable
Ensure you have the correct size. Try different lacing patterns to relieve pressure points, such as skipping an eyelet over the instep. Allow for a short break-in period, typically 20-30 miles.
Lack of expected responsiveness or 'spring' in the ride
The cushioning materials (Lightstrike, ENERGY RODS 2.0) have a lifespan. If the shoes have high mileage (typically 300-500 miles), their responsiveness may naturally decrease, indicating it's time for a replacement. Also ensure you are running on appropriate road surfaces.
Laces come untied frequently during runs
Try using a double knot or a different lacing technique, such as the 'surgeon's knot'. Ensure the laces are securely tightened but not overly constrictive before starting your run.
Foot feels hot or sweaty during runs
The engineered mesh upper is designed for breathability. Ensure you are wearing appropriate moisture-wicking running socks, as cotton socks can trap heat and moisture. Consider running during cooler parts of the day.

- Cleaning: Gently remove dirt and debris with a soft brush or damp cloth. For tougher stains, use a mild soap and water solution. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Drying: Always air dry your shoes at room temperature, away from direct heat or sunlight. Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain shape.
- Storage: Store them in a cool, dry place. Avoid leaving them in direct sunlight or extreme temperatures for extended periods.
- Rotation: If you run frequently, consider rotating them with another pair of running shoes to allow the cushioning to recover and extend their lifespan.
