Product Information

Full details

The Dulux Trade Vinyl Matt Paint in Blue is ideal for professional decorators and homeowners seeking a durable, high-opacity finish for interior walls and ceilings. Its key benefit lies in its superior coverage and ability to mask surface imperfections, resulting in a smooth, flat matt aesthetic. A notable caveat is that as this product is mixed to order, customers should ensure their color selection is final before purchase, as it cannot be returned or exchanged once processed.

FAQs

Can I use this paint in bathrooms or kitchens?

This product is designed for interior walls and ceilings. While it is durable, for high-humidity areas, a specialist moisture-resistant paint is recommended.

How long does it take to dry?

The paint is touch-dry in about 1-2 hours under normal conditions, with a recoat time of 2-4 hours.

What is the coverage of a 5L tin?

Coverage depends on the porosity of the surface, but it generally covers up to 17 square meters per liter.

Can I return this paint if I don't like the shade?

No, because this product is mixed to order, it cannot be returned once the mixing process has started.

Do I need to prime my walls first?

If the wall is new plaster or highly porous, a mist coat (paint thinned with water) is recommended before applying full-strength coats.

Troubleshooting

Paint is not covering in one coat

High-opacity does not guarantee single-coat coverage on contrasting colors; ensure a second coat is applied for true depth and durability.

Visible roller marks

Ensure you are using a medium-pile roller and maintaining a 'wet edge' while painting to allow the paint to level naturally.

Paint drying too fast

Avoid painting in direct sunlight or overly warm, dry rooms. If necessary, slightly dampen the wall beforehand or work in smaller sections.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Superior hide and coverage capabilities
Professional-grade matt finish
Easy application and good flow properties
Fast-drying formula minimizes downtime
Designed specifically for interior walls and ceilings

Cons

Mixed-to-order product means no returns
Limited to indoor use only
Requires proper surface preparation for best results

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Before applying the paint, ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from loose or flaking material. If the surface is porous, applying a primer or a mist coat of thinned emulsion is recommended for better adhesion. Use high-quality brushes or medium-pile rollers for application to ensure the best finish. Between coats, clean your tools thoroughly with warm water to prevent the paint from hardening. Always store the container in a cool, dry place with the lid tightly sealed to prevent the product from drying out or skinning.
