Setup
Your new Nike Mercurial Vapor XVI Elite FG boots may feel snug initially. We recommend wearing them for short periods during light training sessions to allow the materials to adapt to the shape of your foot. This 'break-in' period helps ensure optimal comfort and performance during competitive play.
Compatibility
These boots are designed specifically for Firm Ground (FG) surfaces. This means they are best suited for natural grass pitches that are firm and not waterlogged. Using FG boots on artificial grass (AG) or indoor surfaces can lead to premature stud wear, reduced performance, and potentially void the product warranty.
Care
To ensure the longevity and performance of your boots:
- Clean After Each Use: After every match or training session, remove excess dirt and mud using a soft brush or damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Hand Wash Only: If deeper cleaning is needed, use mild soap and lukewarm water. Do not machine wash or tumble dry, as this can damage the materials and adhesives.
- Air Dry: Stuff the boots with newspaper or paper towels to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape. Allow them to air dry at room temperature, away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
- Inspect Studs: Regularly check the studs for wear and tear. Damaged studs can affect grip and potentially lead to injury.
- Storage: Store your boots in a cool, dry place away from extreme temperatures.
