Product Information

Full details

The Trakker Tempest RS 100 Overwrap is an essential upgrade for dedicated carp anglers who utilize the Tempest RS 100 shelter during colder autumn and winter seasons. By creating a dual-layer twin-skin environment, this wrap significantly improves internal thermal insulation and effectively minimizes condensation build-up. While it offers superior comfort and extra storage, the primary caveat is the additional setup time and weight added to your existing shelter system compared to using the bivvy alone.

FAQs

Does this wrap come with a ground sheet?

No, the overwrap is a separate layer for the exterior of the shelter and does not include a ground sheet.

Can I use the overwrap with the door open?

Yes, the sides of the overwrap can be rolled back fully, allowing you to use the shelter in an open-front configuration.

Is it difficult to pack away?

The wrap folds down neatly, and a dedicated carry bag is provided to make transport and storage simple.

What is the purpose of the clear window?

The clear window allows light into the shelter while keeping the front door zipped shut, which is useful for checking conditions during heavy rain.

Are the rod straps universal?

The two magnetic rod straps are designed specifically for use with the overwrap to provide a secure hold for your fishing rods.

Troubleshooting

Difficulty achieving a taut fit

Ensure the underlying Tempest RS 100 frame is fully tensioned and locked before applying the wrap.

Condensation appearing between layers

Ensure the wrap is properly spaced from the inner shelter and check that vents are correctly aligned to allow airflow.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Significantly warmer internal climate for winter fishing
Effective at preventing condensation
Provides extra internal storage space
Highly durable Aquatexx material
Flexible front door and side panel options

Cons

Adds extra weight to your kit
Requires more time to assemble and pack down
Larger footprint requires more pegging space

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To set up the overwrap, drape the material over your existing Tempest RS 100 structure after the main bivvy has been erected. Secure the wrap using the included pegs, ensuring the tension is balanced to allow the thermal buffer to function correctly.

Compatibility: This item is designed specifically for the Tempest RS 100 model.

Care Instructions: Always ensure the overwrap is completely dry before packing it away into its provided carry bag to prevent the growth of mildew on the fabric. If the exterior gets dirty, wipe it down with a damp cloth and mild, non-detergent soap. Avoid using heavy cleaning chemicals that might degrade the thermal coating on the silver backing.
