FAQs

Are these sneakers true to size?

Yes, the Nike Dunk Low typically fits true to your standard Nike size.

Can I use these for basketball?

While the Dunk was originally a basketball shoe, this retro version is intended primarily for lifestyle and casual fashion use rather than intense performance sports.

What is the best way to clean the suede/leather parts?

Use a specialized sneaker cleaning kit that is safe for the specific material, testing a small area first.

Is the material waterproof?

No, the materials are not waterproof; it is recommended to use a protective water-repellent spray if you live in a wet climate.

Does the padded tongue make the shoe fit tighter?

The padding provides a snug, secure fit. If you prefer a looser feel, try loosening the laces from the bottom eyelets upward.

Troubleshooting

Laces coming untied frequently

Consider a 'double-knot' or upgrading to waxed laces for better grip.

Creasing on the toe box

This is a natural occurrence with leather sneakers; using 'shoe trees' after wear can help maintain the shape.

Sole losing traction on wet surfaces

Wipe the rubber outsole with a damp cloth to remove buildup that may be reducing friction.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Sophisticated and versatile colorway
Comfortable fit for long-term wear
Durable rubber outsole for traction
Breathable construction via perforated toe box

Cons

Lighter grey shades may be prone to showing dirt
Limited to casual use rather than specialized sports
Low-top design lacks ankle support found in high-tops

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Because this is a ready-to-wear sneaker, no complex setup is required. To ensure your trainers remain in top condition, consider the following care tips:

Cleaning: Use a soft-bristled brush to remove dry debris from the leather and upper materials. For deeper stains, use a mild soap solution and a damp cloth; avoid submerging the shoes in water.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent the colors from fading.
Compatibility: These trainers feature a standard lace-up closure system, allowing you to adjust the tension to fit your preference. If you find the factory insoles insufficient, they are easily removable to accommodate custom orthotics.
