Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your Violas thrive, start by selecting a location with well-draining soil. If planting in pots, use a high-quality multipurpose compost to ensure nutrients are available.
- Dig a hole slightly larger than the root ball.
- Gently place the plant and firm the soil around the roots.
- Water thoroughly immediately after planting.
For care, aim to keep the soil consistently damp. If you notice spent flowers, pinch or snip them off at the stem base; this prevents the plant from setting seed and redirects energy back into producing new buds. Fertilizing lightly with a general-purpose liquid feed once every few weeks can also help extend the flowering season.
