Check ambient temperature and humidity; drying times can extend in cold or damp conditions. Ensure thin, even coats are applied rather than thick layers.

Ensure the paint was thoroughly stirred before and during application to distribute pigments evenly. Apply in consistent, overlapping strokes to avoid patchy areas. Two coats often help achieve a more uniform finish.

Verify the wood surface was clean, dry, and free from loose material before painting. Previous treatments or wood types can affect absorption; ensure sufficient paint is applied without overspreading.

The final colour can be influenced by the natural colour of the wood underneath and the number of coats applied. Always perform a small test patch in an inconspicuous area and allow it to dry fully before committing to the entire project.
