Product Information

Full details

The TRIXIE Hiding Place for Tablets is designed for pet owners who struggle to administer oral medication to their dogs or cats. By utilizing a soft, palatable treat that encases the pill, this product simplifies the process of ensuring your pet receives their required dosage without stress or refusal. While it provides a highly effective masking solution, users should note that the treat must be stored correctly to maintain its soft consistency and prevent it from drying out.

FAQs

Can this be used for both dogs and cats?

Yes, the product is suitable for both dogs and cats, particularly those that require regular oral medication.

Does this replace a meal?

No, this is a snack/treat intended for administering medication and should not be used as a replacement for your pet's balanced diet.

How many treats are in a 100g bag?

The exact count can vary based on the individual size of each treat, but the package provides 100g of total product weight.

Is it safe for pets with food allergies?

Please review the full ingredient list on the packaging for any known allergens your pet may have before feeding.

Should I refrigerate the treats?

It is not required to refrigerate the treats; storing them in a cool, dry, and dark place is sufficient to maintain their quality.

Troubleshooting

The treat has become hard and difficult to mold.

Ensure the pouch seal is fully closed between uses. If it remains hard, the product may have been exposed to air for too long.

Pet is still detecting the medication inside.

Ensure the opening is fully pinched and smoothed over so no edges of the tablet are exposed; consider using a smaller piece of the treat if the tablet is very small to ensure it is fully encased.

Pros and Cons

Soft texture makes it easy to mold around different pill sizes
Developed with veterinary input for safety
Highly palatable, making it easier to trick picky eaters

Cons

Requires proper sealing of the pouch to maintain softness
Limited to 100g quantity per pack
May not be suitable for pets with specific dietary restrictions or allergies

Setup, Compatibility & Care

There is no complex setup required; simply remove the treat from the resealable pouch as needed. Ensure the pouch is tightly sealed after each use to keep the remaining treats soft and moldable. The product is designed for adult dogs and cats, though it is recommended to observe your pet the first few times to ensure they consume the treat fully without attempting to spit out the medication. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to maintain the integrity of the ingredients.
