Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Upon receiving your Nike Mercurial Vapor 14 Academy MG boots, a break-in period is essential. Wear them for several short training sessions or light activities before engaging in full-intensity matches. This allows the materials to mold to your foot's unique shape, preventing discomfort and blistering. Ensure you are wearing the type of football socks you typically use for optimal fit.
Compatibility
These boots feature a Multi-Ground (MG) outsole, making them compatible with:
- Firm Ground (FG) natural grass pitches
- Artificial Grass (AG) pitches
The MG stud configuration provides a balanced blend of traction and pressure distribution suitable for both surfaces. They are designed for adult male players, UK size 6.
Care
Proper care extends the lifespan and maintains the performance of your boots:
- Clean After Each Use: Brush off loose dirt and grass. Use a damp cloth with mild soap to wipe down the upper and outsole. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Rinse Gently: Lightly rinse any soap residue with water. Do not submerge the boots.
- Air Dry: Allow the boots to air dry completely at room temperature. Stuffing them with newspaper can help absorb moisture and maintain shape. Avoid direct sunlight, radiators, or tumble dryers, as excessive heat can damage materials.
- Storage: Store them in a cool, dry place, ideally in a boot bag to protect them from dust and damage.
