FAQs
Is this gilet waterproof?
The gilet provides protection against wind and light rain, but it is not classified as fully waterproof.
Can I put this in the tumble dryer?
It is recommended to air dry the gilet to preserve the longevity of the synthetic insulation.
What is the best way to clean it?
Machine wash on a cool, gentle cycle with mild detergent.
Does it run true to size?
Yes, the Trespass sizing follows standard UK children's sizing for the age range indicated.
Is the hood removable?
The hood is not detachable; instead, it folds and tucks away into the collar.
Troubleshooting
Hood feels lumpy when tucked in
Unfold the hood completely and refold it flat, smoothing it out as you tuck it into the collar compartment.
Fabric appears creased
Lightly steam the gilet or allow it to hang in a bathroom while a shower is running to release wrinkles.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Lightweight construction prevents bulky movement
- Versatile design suitable for various weather conditions
- Hidden hood offers quick protection from sudden showers
- Easy-access pockets for daily essentials
Cons
- Not intended for extreme rain or snow
- Requires layering underneath for very cold temperatures
- Lacks reflective elements for high-visibility at night
Setup, Compatibility & Care
This gilet is designed for simple, everyday use. To maintain the insulation properties of the polyester padding, machine wash on a gentle cycle with cold water. Avoid high-heat tumble drying, as this can compress the synthetic fibers and reduce the gilet's ability to trap heat. When storing, ensure the hood is properly tucked or dried thoroughly if it has been used in light rain to prevent odor buildup.
