FAQs

What does '3 sets' mean?

'3 sets' indicates that the package contains three pairs of Pro Grip shafts, totaling six individual shafts.

Are these shafts durable?

Yes, they are made from a specially formulated, incredibly durable nylon compound designed for longevity.

How do these shafts help with flight retention?

They feature a design that offers a strong grip on flights and include a nib for easier insertion, combined with optional Pro Grip rings for maximum security.

What size thread do these shafts use?

The Pro Grip shafts use the standard 2BA thread size, compatible with most dart barrels.

Can I use any type of dart flight with these shafts?

Yes, they are designed to be compatible with all standard dart flights.

How do I attach the Pro Grip ring?

The Pro Grip ring simply slides onto the shaft, positioned at the base of the flight where it meets the shaft, to provide extra grip.

What is the main advantage of the 'smooth lead-in' design?

The smooth lead-in design makes it easier to insert your flights into the shaft without damaging the flight or the shaft petals.

Troubleshooting

Flights are still loose after insertion

Ensure you are using the included Target Pro Grip ring. Experiment with different flight types or brands, as some may fit more snugly than others.

Shaft is difficult to screw into the barrel

Check that the barrel has a clean 2BA thread. Ensure no debris is present in the barrel's thread or the shaft's thread. Screw in gently and straight to avoid cross-threading.

Shaft appears to be cracking

While durable, excessive force or impact can cause damage. Ensure shafts are not overtightened and are not subjected to hard impacts. Replace if significant cracks appear.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Exceptional durability due to the specialized nylon compound.
  • Reduces flight fall-outs, leading to fewer interruptions during play.
  • Easy flight insertion thanks to the nib design.
  • Comes with Pro Grip rings for added flight security.
  • Popular choice, indicating widespread user satisfaction.

Cons

  • The specialized nylon may have a different feel compared to traditional materials.
  • May require Pro Grip rings for optimal flight retention for some users.
  • Specific length and shape might not suit all throwing styles without experimentation.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup:

  1. Ensure the dart barrel has standard 2BA screw threads.
  2. Screw the Pro Grip shaft firmly into the dart barrel.
  3. Gently slide the flight into the shaft, using the nib if needed for easier alignment.
  4. For enhanced grip, slide a Target Pro Grip ring onto the shaft, positioning it where the flight meets the shaft.

Compatibility:

  • The Pro Grip shafts are designed to be compatible with all standard dart flights.
  • They fit into any dart barrel with a 2BA thread, which is the most common size.

Care:

  • To clean, use a soft, dry cloth to wipe away any dust or residue.
  • Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they can damage the nylon material.
  • Store in a dry place to prevent moisture buildup.
