FAQs

How do I clean this rug?

Regularly vacuum the rug to remove loose dirt. Blot spills immediately with a dry cloth and avoid steam cleaning or harsh chemicals.

Can this rug be placed in a basement?

It is not recommended. Prolonged exposure to moisture can cause the backing to deform and may lead to mold growth in the deep pile.

Is the rug suitable for high-traffic areas?

Yes, it is designed for durability; however, frequent vacuuming is necessary to maintain the texture in high-traffic zones.

What is the pile height of the rug?

The Myshaggy Collection features a 30 mm thick plush pile.

Can I use a vacuum with a beater bar?

Use caution. High-powered beater bars can sometimes catch and pull the long fibers; a suction-only setting or a gentle setting is preferred.

Troubleshooting

Rug does not lay flat after unrolling

Lay the rug out in a warm room and use heavy, flat objects on the corners to help it settle over 24-48 hours.

Pile looks flat in high-traffic areas

Gently shake or brush the affected area and rotate the rug to redistribute the foot traffic.

Spill occurred on the rug

Immediately blot with a clean, dry white cloth. Do not scrub or use excessive water, which can damage the backing.

Pros and Cons

Pros

High-quality 30 mm pile provides excellent cushioning
Substantial size offers expansive floor coverage
Neutral grey color matches a variety of decor styles
Durable build quality suitable for long-term use

Cons

Large size may be difficult to move or clean
Not suitable for areas prone to high moisture
Requires regular vacuuming to maintain pile appearance

Setup, Compatibility & Care

When unrolling your new rug, allow it to settle for a few hours to ensure the pile settles flat against the floor. For care, regular vacuuming is essential to prevent dirt from settling deep into the 30 mm pile; avoid using high-powered beater bars if they cause excessive tugging on the fibers. If a spill occurs, act immediately by blotting the area with a clean, dry cloth—do not rub, as this can force moisture deeper into the backing. To extend the life of your rug, rotate it every few months to ensure even wear and avoid placing it in damp environments like basements or areas near leaking windows, as moisture can cause the backing to deform.
