FAQs

Are these shoes suitable for long-distance running?

While these were based on a performance running trainer from 2008, modern technology has advanced significantly. They are best suited for lifestyle wear and casual walking rather than competitive running.

How should I clean the metallic overlays?

Wipe the metallic geometric sections with a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with water to avoid scratching the reflective finish.

Is the sizing true to fit?

The ProGrid Ride 1 follows standard adult sizing conventions. If you typically wear a UK 7.5 in Saucony or similar athletic brands, this size should provide an accurate fit.

Can I remove the insoles to use custom orthotics?

Yes, the insoles are removable and accommodate most third-party orthotic inserts.

What is the primary material of the upper?

The upper is constructed from a combination of lightweight, breathable mesh and synthetic, light-refracting metallic overlays.

Troubleshooting

Visible dirt on mesh upper

Use a soft brush to gently scrub in a circular motion; for deeper stains, use a small amount of mild sneaker-specific cleaner.

Foam midsole losing bounce

This is typically a result of material fatigue; ensure you are rotating your footwear to allow the foam compression to reset between uses.

Pros and Cons

Pros

High-quality breathable mesh construction
Versatile neutral cushioning for all-day wear
Distinctive metallic geometric design details

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure your Saucony ProGrid Ride 1 trainers maintain their appearance, follow these care guidelines:

Routine Cleaning: Use a soft-bristled brush or damp cloth with mild soap to remove surface dirt from the mesh and synthetic overlays.
Avoid Immersion: Never submerge the shoes in water or place them in a washing machine, as this can degrade the foam midsole and adhesive bonds.
Air Dry: Always allow the trainers to air dry in a well-ventilated area away from direct heat sources like radiators, which can cause the materials to warp.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight to prevent the metallic geometric accents from fading or oxidizing.
