FAQs

What type of cushioning does the adidas Anthony Edwards 1 use?

The shoe features a super-light midsole that incorporates both ultralightweight BOOST cushioning technology for responsive energy return and Lightstrike cushioning for a dynamic, explosive feel.

Are these shoes suitable for outdoor basketball courts?

While the durable rubber outsole provides reliable traction, the shoe is primarily engineered for optimal performance and longevity on indoor basketball courts. Consistent outdoor play may accelerate wear on the outsole.

How should I clean my Anthony Edwards 1 shoes?

Clean the textile and synthetic upper with a soft brush or cloth, mild soap, and cold water. Use a stiffer brush for the rubber outsole. Always air dry away from direct heat and avoid machine washing.

What is the fit like for these shoes?

The adidas Anthony Edwards 1 features a regular fit, designed to accommodate a wide range of foot sizes comfortably. The lace-up fastening allows for personalized adjustment.

Can I wear these shoes for casual everyday use?

Yes, their stylish low-profile design makes them suitable for casual streetwear. However, they are fundamentally designed for peak basketball performance, so their feel is geared towards athletic activity.

Why is it called the 'Anthony Edwards 1'?

This is the first signature shoe for NBA star Anthony Edwards with adidas, designed to embody his dynamic and explosive playing style.

Troubleshooting

Shoes feel too tight or loose during play.

Adjust your lacing. Ensure laces are snug but not constricting. You may need to experiment with different lacing patterns to find the optimal fit for your foot and activity.

Experiencing reduced grip or traction on the court.

Clean the outsole thoroughly to remove any dust, dirt, or debris that might be impacting grip. Also, ensure the court surface is clean and dry. Over time, heavy wear can also reduce tread effectiveness.

Foot discomfort or rubbing during initial use.

The shoes may require a brief break-in period. Wear them for shorter periods initially to allow the materials to conform to your foot. Ensure you are wearing appropriate athletic socks.

Cushioning feels less responsive over time.

Cushioning materials can compress with prolonged, intense use. While BOOST and Lightstrike are durable, all athletic shoes have a lifespan. Ensure proper care to maximize their longevity.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup

Your adidas Anthony Edwards 1 shoes arrive ready for immediate use. Simply use the pull tabs for easy entry and then lace them up to your preferred comfort and security level. A 'regular fit' means they should accommodate most foot types comfortably, but experimenting with lacing techniques can optimize fit for your specific foot shape.

Compatibility

These shoes are primarily designed for basketball performance, excelling on indoor court surfaces due to their specialized outsole and cushioning systems. While their low-profile design and dynamic silhouette make them suitable for streetwear and casual use, their core engineering is for high-intensity athletic activity. They are compatible with standard athletic socks.

Care

To maintain the performance and appearance of your Anthony Edwards 1 shoes, follow these care guidelines:

Cleaning the Upper: Use a soft brush or cloth with mild soap and cold water to gently clean the textile and synthetic upper. Avoid harsh chemicals.
Cleaning the Outsole: Use a stiffer brush (like an old toothbrush) to remove dirt and debris from the rubber outsole and its textured grip tread. This helps maintain optimal traction.
Drying: Air dry your shoes at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or direct sunlight, which can damage materials.
Storage: Store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Consider using shoe trees to help maintain their shape.
Avoid Machine Washing: Do not machine wash or machine dry these shoes, as it can compromise their structural integrity and cushioning technology.
