FAQs

Is this rain suit insulated?

No, it is a waterproof shell intended to protect against rain and wind, not extreme cold.

How should I clean this suit?

Machine wash on a cool, gentle cycle with mild detergent. Do not use bleach or fabric softener.

What does the 2000mm waterproof rating mean?

It means the fabric can withstand the pressure of 2000mm of water over a 24-hour period before leakage occurs, suitable for light to moderate rain.

Can I put this in the tumble dryer?

It is recommended to air dry the suit to protect the integrity of the taped seams and technical fabric.

Does it have a hood?

Yes, the design includes a hood to provide additional protection for the head and neck area.

Is the size 12-18 months adjustable?

The suit is cut to fit the standard 12-18 month age range comfortably over regular clothing, but does not feature adjustable length straps.

Troubleshooting

Water soaking through the fabric

Check if the DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating has worn off; you may need to re-apply a waterproofing spray compatible with technical fabrics.

Child feels clammy inside

Ensure that the clothing worn underneath is made of moisture-wicking materials rather than thick cotton, which traps perspiration.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Excellent waterproof rating for light to moderate rain
Breathable material prevents overheating during play
Windproof protection keeps the child warm from gusts
Durable taped seams provide reliable leakage prevention

Cons

Not insulated, requires base layers for cold weather
Limited size range (12-18 months)
Requires careful cleaning to maintain waterproof coating

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the suit maintains its technical properties, wash it on a gentle cycle using mild detergent, avoiding harsh fabric softeners that can strip the water-repellent finish. Always air dry the suit away from direct heat sources like radiators to prevent damage to the taped seams. The suit is designed to be worn over standard clothing; simply pull the legs and arms on over your child's existing outfit. For maximum longevity, avoid rough surfaces that could snag the lightweight fabric.
