FAQs
What is the main benefit of using this mattress topper?
The primary benefit is to significantly enhance the comfort and softness of your existing mattress, providing a more luxurious and supportive sleep surface with its deep 10cm fill.
Is this topper suitable for people with allergies?
Yes, the topper is hypoallergenic, meaning it's kind to sensitive skin and does not contain materials that are likely to cause allergies.
How thick is the topper?
The topper has a generous fill depth of 10cm, providing substantial cushioning.
How do I wash the Silentnight Deep Sleep Ultimate Mattress Topper?
The topper is machine washable. It is recommended to follow the care label, typically using a gentle cycle at a low temperature (e.g., 40°C) with a mild detergent.
Will I need new fitted sheets?
You may need deeper fitted sheets. The topper adds 10cm to your mattress height, so ensure your current fitted sheets have enough depth to cover both securely.

Does the topper help with back pain?
While the topper adds comfort and support, its primary function is to enhance softness. For specific back pain concerns, consulting a healthcare professional about mattress support is advisable.
Troubleshooting
Topper does not fully expand after unpacking
Allow more time for expansion (up to 48 hours) in a warm, well-ventilated room. Gently shake or fluff the topper to help the fibres distribute.
Topper feels uneven or lumpy
The quilting may have shifted. Gently shake and fluff the topper to redistribute the FIBADOWN™ fibres evenly. Ensure the fitted sheet is taut.
Topper is difficult to fit into the washing machine
Check if your washing machine has sufficient capacity. If not, consider professional cleaning or spot cleaning with mild detergent and water.
Persistent odour after washing
Ensure the topper is completely dry before use. Tumble dry on low heat with dryer balls or place in direct sunlight on a dry day. Air out for an extended period.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Unpack the mattress topper and allow it to fully expand and air out in a well-ventilated room for at least 24 hours before use. This helps it regain its original shape and loft.
- Place the topper directly onto your existing mattress. Ensure it lies flat.
- Fit your mattress protector and fitted sheet over both the mattress and the topper. Ensure your fitted sheets are deep enough to accommodate the added 10cm height.
Compatibility:
- The topper is compatible with most standard mattresses.
- Check your fitted sheet's depth; a sheet with a depth of 30cm or more is generally recommended to fit comfortably over a 10cm topper and mattress.
Care:
- The topper is machine washable. Follow the care label instructions on the product. Typically, a gentle cycle at a low temperature (e.g., 40°C) is recommended.
- Use a mild detergent.
- Do not bleach.
- Tumble dry on a low heat setting or line dry, ensuring the topper is completely dry before returning it to the bed. This prevents mildew.
- Regularly air the topper outdoors on a dry day to keep it fresh.
