This waterproof shell jacket is designed for adults seeking reliable protection against the elements during outdoor activities. Its key benefit is the durable, breathable, and waterproof fabric that keeps you dry and comfortable. A potential caveat is that it's a shell jacket, meaning insulation is not included, making it best suited for layering.

No, this is a shell jacket. It is designed to be waterproof and windproof, providing an outer layer of protection. For warmth, you will need to wear insulating layers underneath.
Wash the jacket on a gentle cycle at 30°C with a non-biological detergent. Avoid fabric softeners. After washing, you can tumble dry on low heat to reactivate the Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish. Periodically, consider applying a specific re-waterproofing spray or wash-in treatment.
AquaDry is Craghoppers' proprietary fabric technology that offers a waterproof and breathable coating, ensuring you stay dry from both external moisture (rain) and internal perspiration.
Yes, the jacket provides excellent protection against wind and rain, which are crucial in cold weather. For significant cold, you will need to layer it with warm mid-layers like fleece or down, as the jacket itself does not provide insulation.
The O/S map pocket is specifically sized to hold an Ordnance Survey (OS) map, making it convenient for hikers and trekkers to access their maps quickly without removing the jacket.
The hem typically features drawcords. You can pull these cords to tighten the hem around your waist, helping to seal out wind and improve heat retention.
Ensure all seams are properly taped and intact. If seams are damaged, consider professional repair or replacement. Reapply a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) treatment to the outer fabric if water is no longer beading.
Check that the jacket is clean. Dirt and debris can clog the pores of the fabric. Wash the jacket according to care instructions. Ensure any internal layers are also breathable and moisture-wicking.
Clean the zipper teeth gently with a damp cloth and a small brush. Apply a wax-based lubricant (like beeswax or a specific zipper lubricant) to the teeth. Avoid forcing the zipper.
Setup: This is a ready-to-wear garment. There is no electronic setup required. Ensure the zippers are fully closed before use.
Compatibility: Designed as outerwear for adult use across genders. It can be worn over various base layers and mid-layers depending on the weather conditions.
