Product Information

Full details

The Regatta Lofthouse Bodywarmer is an ideal layering solution for active children aged 3-4 who need extra core warmth without the bulk of a full jacket. It is perfect for transitional seasons, school commutes, and outdoor play, offering essential insulation while keeping arms free for movement. While it provides excellent protection against light moisture and wind, it is not a heavy-duty waterproof raincoat and should be paired with a shell layer during sustained heavy precipitation.

FAQs

Is this vest waterproof?

It is water-repellent, meaning it is designed to withstand light rain and showers, but it is not waterproof for heavy or prolonged rain.

Can I put this in the tumble dryer?

No, it is recommended to air dry the bodywarmer to protect the synthetic fill and the water-repellent coating.

Does it have a name tag?

Yes, there is an integrated address label on the inside of the garment.

Is the hood detachable?

No, the hood is fixed for added convenience and security.

What size is 3-4?

This size is designed for children between the ages of 3 and 4 years old, based on standard UK sizing.

Troubleshooting

Water is soaking into the fabric rather than beading off

The water-repellent finish has likely worn off. Wash the garment to remove dirt and apply a water-repellent reproofing treatment.

Zip feels stiff or sticks

Ensure no fabric is caught in the guard. If it remains stiff, gently clean the zipper teeth with a soft brush to remove debris.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Easy to layer over sweaters or under jackets
Enhanced safety features with 360-degree reflectivity
Durable water-repellent finish for light showers
Convenient internal label for name identification

Cons

Does not provide full arm coverage
Not intended for heavy, prolonged rainfall
Fixed hood cannot be removed if preferred

Setup, Compatibility & Care

This garment is ready to wear immediately. To ensure long-lasting performance, follow these care guidelines:

Washing: Machine wash on a gentle cycle at 30°C using a mild detergent. Avoid fabric softeners as they can degrade the water-repellent finish.
Drying: Air dry naturally. Avoid tumble drying or direct heat sources, as high temperatures can damage the synthetic insulation and reflective elements.
Reproofing: If the water-repellent performance diminishes over time, apply a standard outdoor garment reproofing spray to the outer shell.
Storage: Hang the bodywarmer on a coat hanger to maintain the loft of the padding and prevent creases.
