FAQs
Are these shoes suitable for wide feet?
The XT-Whisper features a SensiFit™ application designed for a secure fit. While generally accommodating, individuals with very wide feet may find them snug. Trying them on is recommended.
How durable is the Contagrip® outsole?
Contagrip® outsoles are known for their durability and are designed to withstand abrasion on various terrains. However, lifespan depends on usage intensity and surface types.
Can I replace the OrthoLite® insoles?
Yes, the OrthoLite® insoles are removable and can be replaced with custom orthotics or other compatible insoles if desired.
What is the primary advantage of the Quicklace™ system?
The Quicklace™ system offers a fast, easy, and secure way to tighten and loosen your footwear with a single pull, eliminating the need for traditional knot-tying.
How do I determine the correct UK size?
Refer to Salomon's official sizing chart or compare with your usual shoe size. For best results, measure your foot length and compare it to the chart provided.
Are these shoes waterproof?
The XT-Whisper is constructed with breathable mesh uppers and is not designed to be waterproof. They are water-resistant to a degree but will allow water to pass through if submerged.
Troubleshooting
Laces not tightening evenly
Ensure the lace channel is clear of debris. Re-thread the laces through the system, ensuring they are properly seated in all eyelets before tightening.
Slight discomfort after initial wear
This is common with new footwear. Wear them for short periods initially and gradually increase duration. The shoe and insole will adapt to your foot shape.
Traction feels reduced on wet surfaces
Check the outsole for embedded debris or wear. Clean the Contagrip® lugs thoroughly. While designed for grip, extreme wet conditions may still require cautious footing.
Debris getting into the shoe despite mesh
Ensure the Quicklace™ is tightened snugly around the midfoot and ankle to create a better seal. Very fine sand or dust may still penetrate some mesh designs.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup: The Salomon XT-Whisper requires no complex setup. Simply try them on and adjust the Quicklace™ system for a secure fit. The laces can be tucked into the small pocket on the tongue for neatness.
Compatibility: These shoes are designed for adult use and are compatible with most standard hiking and trail running apparel. They are suitable for both men and women due to their genderless design.
Care: To clean your XT-Whispers, use a soft brush to remove loose dirt. For deeper cleaning, use a mild soap and cold water with a damp cloth. Avoid using harsh detergents or machine washing. Allow the shoes to air dry completely away from direct heat sources. Ensure the Quicklace™ system is free from debris to maintain its function.
