The Castelli Squadra Stretch Cycling Jacket is a high-performance, entry-level wind shell designed for male cyclists who need reliable protection during cool rides and long, chilly descents. It features a clever hybrid construction that combines wind-blocking ripstop fabric on the core with breathable, stretchable side panels for an aerodynamic fit, though riders should note it is a wind-specific layer and lacks waterproof ratings for heavy downpours.

No, the Squadra Stretch is primarily a wind-blocking jacket. It offers protection against light mist, but it is not rated for heavy rain.
This jacket is designed to be minimalist and packable, so it does not feature external storage pockets.
It is designed to pack down into its own internal space or a small bundle, making it easy to store in a standard rear cycling jersey pocket.
It is best suited for cool to mild conditions, typically performing best between 10C and 18C depending on your personal heat tolerance and layering.
It is recommended to air dry the jacket to avoid damaging the technical fabrics and coatings used in the construction.
The Squadra line features an aerodynamic, race-ready cut. Ensure you are wearing minimal layers underneath, or consider if the next size up is required for your preferred fit.
Check for any trapped fabric in the zipper track. Ensure the jacket is laid flat when zipping up to avoid catching the lightweight materials.
The Squadra Stretch Jacket features a race-inspired fit, so it is designed to be worn over a base layer and a standard cycling jersey. To ensure the longest lifespan for the nylon material and the wind-blocking coating, always machine wash on a delicate cycle with a technical detergent. Avoid using fabric softeners, as they can degrade the specialized coatings. Hang dry in a shaded area away from direct sunlight to preserve the fabric's integrity and reflective elements.
