Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup & Compatibility
The Diablo Dynamic Zip-In Jacket is designed as an outer shell. Its key setup feature is its zip-in compatibility system:
- Zip-In Integration: To add warmth, take a compatible The North Face fleece (such as the Women's 100 Glacier Full-Zip (855O), Glacier Zip-In (85AK), or Huila Synthetic Insulation Jacket (85AG)).
- Align Zippers: Locate the corresponding zippers on both the jacket and the fleece.
- Attach: Carefully zip the fleece into the jacket, ensuring both layers are fully connected. Some models may also have snap loops at the collar or cuffs for extra security.
This system allows you to easily create a versatile 3-in-1 jacket, adapting to varying temperatures and activity levels.
Care Instructions
Proper care will extend the life and performance of your DryVent™ jacket:
- Washing: Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with a small amount of liquid detergent. Avoid powder detergents, fabric softeners, and bleach, as these can clog the fabric's pores and compromise waterproofing.
- Drying: Tumble dry on low heat. You may need to run the dryer for an extended period, or air dry, ensuring the jacket is fully dry.
- Durable Water Repellent (DWR) Treatment: Over time, the DWR finish that makes water bead up on the surface may wear off. If water no longer beads, you can refresh the DWR by tumble drying the clean jacket for 20 minutes on medium heat, or by applying a DWR-restoring spray or wash-in product specifically designed for waterproof breathable fabrics.
- Storage: Store the jacket clean and dry in a cool, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight.
