Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Unroll: Carefully unroll your new rug in its desired location. It may take a day or two for any temporary creases from packaging to flatten completely. You can gently bend the creases in the opposite direction or place heavy objects on the corners to speed up the process.
- Position: Place the rug in your chosen spot. Ensure it's centered and aligned with your furniture or room layout.
- Secure (Optional but Recommended): For optimal safety, especially on smooth surfaces like hardwood, tile, or laminate, always use a rug grip underneath the rug. This prevents slipping and helps keep the rug in place.
Compatibility
This Shaggy Rug is highly versatile and compatible with most indoor floor types, including:
- Hardwood
- Laminate
- Tile
- Carpet (use of a rug grip is still advisable to prevent shifting)
It is suitable for a wide range of rooms, from living rooms and bedrooms to dining areas and hallways, due to its durability and cosy appeal. The beige color offers neutral compatibility with various decor styles.
Care
- Regular Vacuuming: Vacuum your rug regularly, ideally once or twice a week, using a low-power setting or a vacuum cleaner without a beater bar (or with the beater bar turned off) to prevent damaging the deep pile. Vacuum in different directions to reach all fibers.
- Spot Cleaning: For spills and stains, act quickly. Blot (do not rub) the affected area with a clean, damp cloth and a mild detergent solution. Always test any cleaning solution on an inconspicuous part of the rug first.
- Deep Cleaning: For a more thorough clean, professional rug cleaning is recommended periodically. Avoid saturating the rug with water.
- Rotate: To ensure even wear and exposure to light, rotate your rug 180 degrees every 3-6 months.
- Avoid Excessive Moisture: Polypropylene is water-resistant, but excessive moisture can lead to issues. If the rug gets wet, ensure it dries completely and quickly.
- Shake Out (Smaller Rugs): Smaller rugs can be taken outside and shaken to remove loose dirt and dust.
