The Merrell Moab 3 is designed for adult hikers who prioritize out-of-the-box comfort and versatility on a wide range of trails. As one of the world's best-selling hiking shoes, it provides reliable traction, waterproofing, and impact protection for both casual hikers and experienced trekkers. Note that while the mid-cut silhouette offers excellent ankle support, it may feel bulkier than low-cut trail runners for those strictly focused on speed.

Yes, the waterproof membrane and durable leather construction provide good protection in cold, wet conditions, though they are not insulated for extreme sub-zero temperatures.
The Moab 3 follows standard UK sizing. We recommend leaving about a half-inch of space in the toe box to account for foot swelling during long hikes.
Yes, the insole is removable and can be swapped for custom orthotic inserts if needed.
The shoes come treated from the factory. You do not need to treat them initially, but applying a leather-safe waterproof conditioner after several months of use will extend their life.
No, do not put your hiking shoes in the washing machine. Harsh detergents and high heat can ruin the glue and the waterproof membrane.
Adjust the lace tension at the lower eyelets to allow for more flexibility while keeping the top hooks snug for support.
Ensure your socks are not soaking up water at the ankle opening; if the exterior leather is saturated, re-apply a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) spray after cleaning.
Check if the tread is clogged with caked-on mud; wash with warm water and a firm brush to restore traction.
Because the Moab 3 is known for its immediate comfort, no complex break-in period is required. However, we recommend wearing them on short walks before heading out on long-distance excursions. To ensure longevity, clean the leather exterior with a soft brush to remove dirt and grit after every hike. If the interior becomes wet, air dry the shoes naturally away from direct heat sources like radiators, which can damage the leather or waterproof membrane. Periodically check the outsole for embedded rocks or debris to maintain optimal grip.
