FAQs

Is this gilet waterproof?

The gilet is crafted from nylon, which provides some resistance to light moisture, but it is not a fully waterproof garment.

Can I remove the hood permanently?

Yes, the hood is designed to be detached easily, allowing you to wear the gilet as a streamlined vest.

How should I clean the metallic exterior?

Do not attempt to spot clean with chemicals. It is best to have the garment professionally dry cleaned.

Is the gilet true to size?

Moncler sizing typically runs tailored. It is recommended to check the specific size chart for your measurements if you plan to wear it over heavy layers.

Does the metallic finish peel off?

When cared for according to the instructions, the finish is durable, but avoid rubbing it against abrasive surfaces to prevent cosmetic damage.

Troubleshooting

Detachable hood zipper sticks or is difficult to operate

Ensure no fabric is caught in the zipper teeth and gently clear any debris before attempting to zip it back on.

Down appears flattened after storage

Gently shake the gilet and fluff it with your hands to redistribute the down clusters and restore its natural volume.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Versatile layering piece suitable for various climates
Detachable hood adds significant functional flexibility
Lightweight design ensures comfort without restricted movement
Eye-catching metallic finish provides a modern, elevated aesthetic

Cons

Metallic finish may show signs of wear if handled roughly
Dry clean only requirement for professional maintenance
Limited to core warmth; not a full replacement for a heavy winter parka

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To keep your Fluidite Gilet in top condition, always store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, which can affect the metallic finish. When layering, pair it with slim-fitting knitwear or technical base layers to maintain the gilet's intended silhouette. Regarding care, the garment is made from nylon and filled with down; therefore, professional dry cleaning is highly recommended to preserve the integrity of the down loft and the vibrancy of the metallic coating. Avoid machine washing or using harsh chemical solvents.
