Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Unpack: Remove the boots from their packaging.
- Lacing: Loosen the laces sufficiently to easily slide your foot in. The padded collar and tongue should feel comfortable around your ankle.
- Adjust Fit: Once your foot is fully in, pull the heel tab to ensure your heel is seated correctly. Tighten the laces starting from the bottom eyelets, ensuring a snug but not overly tight fit that allows for full range of ankle motion. Double-knot for security.
- Break-in: Wear the boots for shorter periods initially to allow the leather to soften and the insole to fully conform to your foot shape. This typically takes a few days of regular use.
Compatibility
These boots are compatible with a wide range of work environments requiring EN ISO 20345:2011 SB SRA safety standards. This includes:
- Industrial Settings: Factories, warehouses, manufacturing plants.
- Construction Sites: Providing protection against falling objects and punctures.
- Trades: Mechanics, electricians, plumbers, carpenters.
- Logistics & Delivery: For those handling heavy items or working in varied conditions.
- Maintenance: Janitorial services, facility management.
They are ideal for individuals seeking robust foot protection and comfort in settings with potential impact hazards, slippery surfaces, or long periods of standing.
Care
- Cleaning: Regularly wipe down the full-grain leather upper with a damp cloth to remove dirt and dust. For tougher grime, use a specialized leather cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Conditioning: To maintain the leather's suppleness and prevent cracking, apply a quality leather conditioner every few weeks or months, depending on usage and exposure to harsh elements. Follow the conditioner product's instructions.
- Drying: If the boots get wet, allow them to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or direct sunlight, as this can damage the leather.
- Insole Care: The Memory Foam insole is removable. You can take it out to air it after prolonged use, which helps reduce odor and maintains freshness. If heavily soiled, hand wash with mild soap and water, then air dry completely before reinserting.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use. Using boot trees can help maintain their shape.
