Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Ensure a snug but comfortable fit. Use all eyelets to secure your foot, especially on uneven terrain to prevent slippage inside the shoe. Experiment with different lacing techniques to find what provides the best comfort and security for your foot type and running style.
- Sock Choice: Pair your Hierro v9s with appropriate running socks, preferably synthetic moisture-wicking materials, to prevent blisters and enhance comfort on longer runs.
Compatibility
- Terrain: Optimally designed for technical trails, singletrack, rocky paths, dirt roads, and muddy conditions. Less suited for road running or track workouts due to the aggressive outsole.
- Runner Profile: Ideal for neutral runners seeking a cushioned, protective, and stable shoe for medium to long-distance trail running. Suitable for training and racing on demanding trails.
Care Instructions
Proper care extends the life and performance of your trail running shoes:
- Cleaning: After each muddy run, gently brush off loose dirt and mud. You can rinse them under cold, running water if heavily soiled. Avoid using hot water, harsh detergents, or washing machines as these can damage materials and adhesives.
- Drying: Remove insoles and stuff the shoes with newspaper or paper towels to absorb moisture. Allow them to air dry naturally in a cool, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight or heat sources (like radiators), which can warp materials. Never put them in a dryer.
- Storage: Store your shoes in a dry place at room temperature. Avoid storing them in damp or extremely hot environments.
- Inspection: Regularly check the outsole lugs for excessive wear and the upper for any tears or damage. Address minor issues promptly to prevent them from worsening.
