FAQs

What is Vio Motion Technology?

It is a specialized design integration featuring contoured arch support, shock-absorbing cushioning, and a deep heel cup to improve foot alignment and comfort.

Can I replace the insoles?

The insoles are specifically engineered for the shoe's structure. It is recommended to use the provided insoles to maintain the intended support profile.

Are these suitable for wide feet?

The deconstructed upper design offers some flexibility, but as these are standard width, individuals with very wide feet may find them snug.

How high is the heel on these trainers?

These shoes feature a 1.625-inch heel height and an additional 0.875-inch platform for balanced elevation.

Are these shoes machine washable?

No, because they are constructed with suede, machine washing can permanently damage the material. Stick to spot cleaning or professional suede care.

Troubleshooting

Footbed feels too firm initially

This is normal for Vio Motion Technology; wear the shoes for short intervals over several days to allow the arch support to conform to your foot.

Suede appears scuffed

Use a specialized suede brush to gently buff the nap in one direction, which often restores the original texture and appearance.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Comprehensive orthotic-grade arch support
  • Excellent shock absorption for reduced foot fatigue
  • Flexible sole design for natural walking motion
  • Sophisticated, casual style suitable for various settings
  • Stable heel cup prevents excessive foot movement

Cons

  • Suede material needs protection against moisture
  • Limited to specific casual use cases
  • Requires a break-in period for the arch support to feel natural

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the longevity of your Vionic Uptown Trainers, follow these guidelines:

  1. Break-in Period: If you are new to Vionic footwear, wear them for a few hours at a time during the first week to allow your feet to adjust to the Vio Motion support.
  2. Cleaning Suede: Use a soft-bristled brush to remove surface dust. For minor marks, a dedicated suede eraser is recommended. Avoid soaking the suede in water.
  3. Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent colour fading of the green suede.
  4. Protection: Apply a water and stain repellent spray suitable for suede before first use to add a protective layer against the elements.
