Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Wear & Fit
Upon receiving your Nike Air Max SNDR Gore-Tex, take a moment to understand its unique fit. The `zipper cover` conceals a traditional lacing system beneath. Unzip the cover, adjust the laces to your desired comfort and snugness, then zip it back up. Ensure your foot feels secure but not constricted. The `neoprene upper` offers a flexible fit that will adapt slightly to your foot over time. Wear with appropriate socks, considering the GORE-TEX membrane can retain warmth.
Compatibility
These shoes are designed for general everyday wear and urban exploration. Their weather-resistant properties make them compatible with various climates, especially wet and cold conditions. While comfortable for walking, they are not specifically designed as performance running shoes. They pair well with casual and activewear outfits.
Care Instructions
Proper care is essential to maintain the integrity of the GORE-TEX membrane and the overall appearance of your sneakers.
- Cleaning: Gently wipe the neoprene upper and rubber sole with a damp cloth and mild soap. For stubborn dirt, a soft brush can be used. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the GORE-TEX membrane.
- Drying: Allow shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not use direct heat sources like radiators or hairdryers, as extreme heat can damage materials and adhesives.
- Waterproofing Maintenance: While GORE-TEX is durable, periodic re-treatment with a GORE-TEX approved DWR (Durable Water Repellent) spray can help maintain its water-shedding properties, especially on the outer fabric layer.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent material degradation.
