FAQs

Is this fleece waterproof?

No, the Regatta Frankie Borg is designed for warmth and comfort, not as a waterproof outer shell.

Can I layer under this fleece?

Yes, the relaxed fit is specifically designed to accommodate layering underneath, such as a base layer or a thin long-sleeve shirt.

Does it have pockets?

The core design focuses on the fleece construction, so always check your specific MPN version for pocket availability as designs may vary slightly.

How should I choose the right size?

Since it features a relaxed, loose fit, you can stick to your normal size for the intended baggy look or size down if you prefer a more structured fit.

Can I wear this for hiking?

It is suitable for casual walking or light outdoor activities, but for strenuous hiking, you may want a more breathable, technical material.

Troubleshooting

Fleece starting to look matted

Gently brush the garment with a soft fabric brush to lift the pile and restore the original softness.

Zip feels stiff or stuck

Ensure no fabric is caught in the track. You can run a graphite pencil lead along the teeth to provide natural lubrication.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Extremely warm and soft material
Extra coverage provided by the longline design
Adjustable ventilation via the half-zip neck
Versatile style suitable for travel and commuting

Cons

Relaxed fit may feel too loose for some body types
Not intended for heavy-duty waterproof protection
Borg fleece texture requires specific care to maintain softness

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the longevity of your fleece, follow these care instructions:

Washing: Machine wash on a cool, gentle cycle. Avoid using harsh detergents or fabric softeners, as these can flatten the borg pile.
Drying: Air dry whenever possible. Avoid high-heat tumble drying, which can cause the synthetic fibers to lose their shape or texture.
Storage: Hang the garment on a wide-shouldered hanger to maintain the shape of the shoulders and the drape of the longline hem.
Compatibility: This piece pairs exceptionally well with leggings or slim-fit denim, creating a balanced silhouette that complements the relaxed nature of the fleece.
