The You Garden Flamingo Willow (Salix integra 'Hakuro-nishiki') is an ideal choice for gardeners looking to add structure and seasonal color to patios or small landscape borders. These standard-form trees offer a stunning display of creamy pink and white variegated foliage, providing an elegant focal point for your outdoor space. While they are exceptionally hardy and easy to maintain, they do require consistent watering to ensure the foliage remains vibrant and does not scorch during the peak of summer.

Yes, while they are excellent in pots, they can also be planted directly into garden borders if the soil is kept moist.
Pruning should be performed once a year in late autumn after the tree has gone dormant.
No, Salix integra is hardy and can withstand winter temperatures outdoors in most UK garden conditions.
They prefer moist, fertile soil that drains well. Standard potting mix is ideal for container planting.
They are supplied as standards at 80-90cm, and while they will grow, regular pruning will keep them at a manageable size for containers.
Salix species can be mildly irritating to pets if ingested. It is best to place them where pets are unlikely to chew on the leaves.
This is typically a sign of underwatering. Increase the frequency of your watering schedule and ensure the root ball stays consistently moist.
Ensure the plant is receiving adequate sunlight. If the plant is in total shade, the variegation will fade; move it to a brighter location.
This usually happens when pruning is skipped. Prune back the previous season's growth in late autumn to encourage a fuller, more compact canopy.
