Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your Lithodora thrives, select a location that receives full sun to partial shade. The most critical factor for success is soil composition; it must be free-draining. If you have heavy clay soil, amend it with grit or sand before planting. When planting, dig a hole twice the width of the container, place the plant at the same depth it was in the nursery pot, and backfill with native soil mixed with organic compost. Water regularly during the first growing season until the root system is established. Beyond initial planting, maintenance is minimal; a light trim after the primary flowering phase can help maintain a tidy shape and encourage a potential second flush of blooms.
