Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Upon receiving your adidas Kaiser 5 Goal boots:
- Lacing: Fully unlace the boots, slide your foot in, and then lace them up snugly but comfortably. Ensure the `fold over tongue` is positioned correctly for your comfort.
- Break-in Period: As these boots feature a full grain leather upper, they may require a short break-in period. Wear them for a few light training sessions or casual use before competitive matches to allow the leather to mould to your foot shape for optimal comfort and feel.
Compatibility
- Ideal Surfaces: These boots are specifically designed for indoor court surfaces, including polished wood, synthetic court materials, and linoleum.
- Not Compatible With: They are not suitable for natural grass, artificial turf, or gravel pitches, as the gum sole will not provide adequate grip and could be damaged.
Care
Proper care extends the life and maintains the performance of your boots:
- Cleaning the Upper: After each use, wipe down the leather upper with a damp cloth to remove dirt and dust. For deeper cleaning, use a specialized leather cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Cleaning the Sole: Clean the gum rubber sole with a damp cloth and mild soap to remove any court residue or debris that could affect traction.
- Drying: Always allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, as this can dry out and crack the leather.
- Storage: Store the boots in a cool, dry place. Using shoe trees can help maintain their shape.
- Conditioning: Periodically apply a leather conditioner to keep the leather supple and prevent it from drying out.
