Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup:
- Power down your laptop or small-form-factor PC completely and unplug the power adapter.
- Open the access panel for the memory module (refer to your device's manual for specific instructions).
- Carefully remove the existing SO-DIMM module(s) if necessary, by gently pushing the retaining clips outward.
- Align the notch on the new HyperX Impact module with the notch in the slot.
- Insert the module at a 30-45 degree angle and then press it down until it clicks into place, secured by the clips.
- Close the access panel and reconnect the power adapter.
- Power on your system. The system should automatically detect the new memory.
Compatibility:
This module is a 260-pin DDR4 SO-DIMM and is designed for laptops and small-form-factor PCs. It supports Intel and AMD platforms. Ensure your motherboard's specifications are compatible with DDR4 2666 MHz memory. Note that Plug N Play overclocking may be limited by the system BIOS on certain mobile processors (e.g., up to 2133MHz for Skylake or 2400MHz for Kaby Lake mobile CPUs, excluding H-series Core i7 processors).
Care:
- Handle memory modules by the edges to avoid touching the gold contacts or chips.
- Store modules in an anti-static bag when not installed.
- Avoid exposing the module to extreme temperatures or moisture. Operating temperature is 0°C to 85°C.
